Experience the Magic of Colorado Springs.
Seventy miles south of Denver and nestled at the base of the majestic Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs truly lives up to its beauty and adventure. This city is a vibrant destination bursting with natural beauty, thrilling outdoor pursuits, and a growing arts and culture scene that beckons visitors of all ages. Whether you have one day or seven, there is plenty of things to do here. We will cover the most popular below!
Nature’s Masterpiece: Garden of the Gods.
No visit to Colorado Springs is complete without marveling at the otherworldly beauty of Garden of the Gods Park. This free public park boasts stunning red rock formations that seem to pierce the sky, offering endless photo opportunities and a feeling of awe. Hike or bike along its numerous trails, or try your hand at rock climbing (with proper registration, of course!). The Visitor & Nature Center provides valuable insights into the park’s history and geology, and the terrace offers some of the most spectacular views imaginable. Oh and watch out for those rattlesnakes!
Conquer a Fourteener: Pikes Peak.

For those seeking a true challenge, consider tackling Pikes Peak, a 14,115-foot mountain that inspired the song “America the Beautiful”. While the full hike is strenuous, options exist for varying fitness levels. The Barr Trail is a popular, albeit challenging, route, while the Crags Trail offers a shorter and less crowded ascent with arguably better views. Regardless of how you choose to experience it, the panoramic vistas from the summit are simply unforgettable. But if strenuous hiking isn’t on the books for the day, the drive up Pikes Peak is just as spectacular. Make sure to grab the famous Donuts in the Sky that are made specifically for the high elevation!
Explore the Wild at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Get up close and personal with hundreds of animals at this unique, stunning mountain top zoo. Situated on a mountain, this is the highest elevation zoo in America, granting visitors breathtaking views, all the while floating on a chairlift that connects another section. From hand feeding giraffes, to watching the playful bear brothers there is unlimited fun here. Named the #4 Best Zoo in America, it’s defiantly a highlight not to miss.
Chase Waterfalls: The Broadmoor Seven Falls.

Explore the cascading waterfalls and scenic trails at this stunning natural attraction known as the “Grandest Mile of Scenery” in Colorado and is the only waterfall in the state to be featured on National Geographic’s list of international waterfalls. As its name states, Seven Falls are a series of seven waterfalls that cascade in a 1,250 foot walled box canyon between the towering Pillars of Hercules. Visitors can get up close as steps climb each fall, ultimately leading to trails at the top.
Go Wide Open at Red Rock Canyon Open Space.
Enjoy miles of hiking and biking trails with incredible views of the city and Pikes Peak. This open space is known for its red rock formations that are similar to Garden of the Gods, but with less traffic. The park features multiple trails, an off leash dog park, a bike park, and rock climbing. You will find family-friendly paths to more strenuous hikes with big elevation gains. You choose your path and adventure here!
U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and Training Center.
If sports is more your thing, immerse yourself in the world of athletics and celebrate the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic games at this museum and training facility.
The museum features 12 galleries with interactive exhibits, artifacts, and media showcasing the history of the Olympic and Paralympic movements.
